Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Mount Kenya & Trek to Old Moses
Nairobi → Sirimon Gate → Old Moses Camp (3,300 m)
Early morning pick-up from Nairobi (or Nanyuki) and drive to Sirimon Gate (2,650 m). After park formalities, start trekking through montane forest and bamboo zones. Spot monkeys and giant heather. Gentle ascent to Old Moses Camp for acclimatization.
Walking: 3–4 hours | 9 km | +700 m ascent

Accommodation: Old Moses Hut/Camp
Day 2: Cross Liki North Valley to Shipton’s Camp
Old Moses → Shipton’s Camp (4,200 m)
Trek through the scenic Liki North Valley and Mackinder’s Valley. Pass giant lobelia and groundsel vegetation. Stunning views of Terere and Sendeyo peaks. Arrive at Shipton’s Camp in the afternoon – perfect spot for photos of Batian & Nelion at sunset.
Walking: 6–7 hours | 14 km | +900 m ascent

Day 3: Sunrise Summit & Long Descent
Shipton’s → Point Lenana (4,985 m) → Old Moses
Alpine start at 2:30–3:00 am with headlamps. Steep but non-technical climb to Point Lenana for magical sunrise over the Kenyan plains. Descend to Mackinder’s Camp for breakfast, then continue down the Sirimon route to Old Moses. Celebrate with the team!
Walking: 9–11 hours | 21 km | +785 m ascent / –1,685 m descent

Day 4: Final Descent & Transfer Back
Old Moses → Sirimon Gate → Nairobi
Easy morning descent through the rainforest back to Sirimon Gate. Meet your driver and transfer to Nairobi (or drop-off Nanyuki if continuing to Samburu/Laikipia). Arrive Nairobi late afternoon with lifetime memories!
